How to calculate your tarot birth card

This calculator uses the single-card 22-arcana method. Add every digit in your birth date, then subtract 22 from totals above 22 until the result falls between 1 and 22. Numbers 1 through 21 match the numbered Major Arcana, while 22 represents The Fool.

For example, February 14, 1994 gives 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 + 0 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 30. Subtracting 22 gives 8, so the tarot birth card in this method is Strength.

What your result means

A birth card is a symbolic archetype for self-reflection. It does not determine your personality or predict your future. After calculating, read the card's upright and reversed meanings, then compare them with your experiences, strengths, and recurring life themes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my tarot birth card?

Add every digit in your date of birth. If the total is greater than 22, subtract 22 until the result is between 1 and 22. In this single-card method, 22 corresponds to The Fool.

What is a tarot birth card?

A tarot birth card is a Major Arcana archetype associated with your date of birth through a numerology calculation. It is commonly used as a theme for reflection rather than a prediction.

Does the calculator save my birth date?

No. The calculation happens in your browser. The date you enter is not sent to TarotWise or saved by this calculator.

Why do some tarot birth card methods give two cards?

Several traditions use different reduction rules. This calculator uses a transparent single-card, 22-arcana method. Other systems may preserve an intermediate number and interpret a pair of related Major Arcana cards.
